Day 6: 7 days of positivity

okay so today was full of ups & downs...! the downside was the stupid conversation with my boss! argh! sometimes he infuriates me so much i want to kill him!!! anyways...by rule wednesdays being the middle of the week...are often blah days...u just cant wait till they pass so that ur on the right side of the week again! anyways onward to.....

Day 6: Wednesday

1. woke up in a good mood actually...i have no idea what i was dreaming but it was def good because i woke up with a smile and a skip in my step! :) i also wore my favourite outfit to work...and that always makes me feel good about myself!

2. work was hectic - in a good way...i was actually at work for over 12 hours yday...but it was the kind of work that i like doing...that reminds me of why im in this job in the first place! plus after a loong time i was the only one in the floor past 7 in the eve and it was nice to listen to my fav music and work away!

3. because of the hectic pace of work...i sort of lost my patience with a colleague of mine...sent him an email which was quite rude actually...when the issue got cleared i realized that i was at fault...! i felt horrible for writing such an email especially since i copied his line manager & my line manager into it also! *sigh* but after talking to B, who advised me that its better to take the blame than to feel guilty about it...thats what i did...i sent a reply apologizing for overreacting and thanked him for clearing the issue. i was afraid my boss would say sthin to me...which he dint! and i felt tons better afterwards! :)

4. im grateful for a reconnection i made with another friend...we sort of drifted apart abt 3 yrs back due to our lives diverging into two diff paths and ive missed her a lot in recent times...we both made an effort to catch up some time back and try to be more involved in each other's lives! she called me yday and reminded me how grateful i am for the fact that she is back in my life!

5. after a long day at work...i got back home and treated myself to a cup of hot & sweet chai and just curled up on my sofa to reread bits of my favourite novel...i was supposed to call some people back but i just really needed those few mins to myself before i could get back to the world! :)

Realising ones mistake and then apologizing is not easy. Needs courage am sure.

Proud of u :)

Am not too good with "reconnecting" with friends especially when we have drifted apart :( I'm the sorts who forgets but doesn't easily forgive. Once you lose my trust, regaining it back is difficult.

So double proud of u :)

yep it does...and its harder when there are so many people involved!

am proud of myself too! :)

am actually the kind who forgives very easily but never forgets...i dont tend to hold onto grudges for long...but would always remember friends...!
Once i make friends with you, i let you in my heart...and its kind of difficult to forget someone who's been in your heart na? :)

and thanks :)

:) ya, they have to be that good friends for one to forgive them and not forget them.
On second thoughts, I'd perhaps do that for people I really really like. But such people are really really rare.
...perhaps the result of roaming around the country and making acquiantances and NOT friends :I

That shows that you had some eventful day. :)
Working alone in the entire floor is a completely different experience and in turn it will become the most productive time for the company. At least that’s what I’ve experienced.

Yes you did the right thing. I’m happy that your friend was there for you at the right time to give you the right advice.

Reconnecting with old friends who got drifted away is a happy thing. I say it decreases our age drastically.(Yes believe me, meeting an old and dear friend is reducing your age and increasing the happiness by 10 times.)

After a tiring day, having a nice tea or coffee or a good snack is a great relief. And if we get a few minutes to spend with our favorite activity, pet or person or even a thing which we love, then it makes us rejuvenated.

Finally about the comments… I generally follow the lesson I learnt in my life-“You can’t forget if you can’t forgive and if you forgive you can’t forget. :)”. Hence a person if becomes close to us once, he will remain in our heart forever no matter how far he goes from us. Only thing is forgiving reduces our pain.

In life if someone hurts our feelings, it will become very difficult to forget those things (or the person) unless we forgive them. And the moment we forgive them we tend to forget the things they did to us. Hence it’s always better to forgive such people instantly as it will help in reducing our pain. See in any relationship, in the long run we tend to remember only the happy moments and we forget the unhappy or sad things. Hence in life an old friend is always dear.

@ S: yep exactly...there are some people and regardless of how much distance, you just genuinely like them and once you are willing to forgive what happened, its always worth it to revive the friendship!

and yes moving is tough on making friends! but sometimes its also completely worth it as you see soo many different places, different people & different lifestyles! :)

@ Asif: mostly i actually work best with the hum drum of people & computers around me! its only on some occasions when its easier to work alone with no distractions!

lol yes i agree...meeting old friends def adds a sparkle to life!

yep i think everyone needs their 5-10 mins of me-time to rejevunate!

yes happy memories are what usually stay long term...the mind is like a sieve and it filters out anything that can potentially hurt us...even if you think you would never forgive the person for the amount they hurt you...over time the hurt heals and memories fade...
