Small veins and other updates

Small Veins - im just wondering if thats supposed to have some deeper darker meaning! So I went to NUH with this huge hoo-haa about donating platelets (email from a friend of a friend of a friend's son who needed as he was undergoing chemotherapy) and whadda know?? i get rejected! for small veins! gah! prob the excess fat in my arms squeezing the life out of my poor veins! anyways all i did was a blood donation & came back...since i had to do something once i was there!

the hallways of NUH reminded me of that week that i walked there almost everyday and sometimes twice a day to visit a friend who had been admitted as the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with her! there is a certain smell in hospitals...the mixture of antiseptic, cold air and disease...and inhaling that sort of puts me on an edge...a foreboding of bad things to come? prob the reason why i havent donated blood as often as i should be since i graduated from college! (of course a large bit also has to do with the fact that in col, the mobile blood banks were super easy to just go & donate, whereas going all the way to NUH from work is a tad bit painful!)

Anyways the ex is coming to town next week...and im not sure what i should be feeling! we have a lot of unresolved emotions i think...and im just crossing my fingers that nothing outward happens! of course i will hardly get to meet him properly since im flying home for the long wkend which is a blessing? a curse? god knows! but it is what it is!

In other news, B has officially signed on his ship in HK and we are now back to rationed talking on the phone! sat-phones are bloody expensive and poor thing as it is spends a lot listening to my whining! (well someone has to! :P)

I miss my bro! this is pretty much what i was afraid of with him going to a university a gazillion miles away! there is hardly any time to talk between my work & his uni...and even when i do call him, the first 15-20 mins of the conversation is awkward...like we need time to thaw out into our comfort zones with each other...unless of course there is something significant to talk about! i cant wait to spend some quality time with him over the summer! i miss u baby brother!! *hugz*

So what are you upto on this cold Thursday afternoon? (its my office thats cold, outside is perfectly acceptable! - i hate freaking central air conditioning!!)

First of all hats off for good work of mere intention of helping and then for donating blood.:)
You are so true about the feelings we get once we are in hospitals. The mixed smells make us sick from with in. Even now the smell of surgical spirit creates the same effect with in me. As a kid I always hated the idea of going to hospitals for exactly the same reason of “fore bonding of bad things to come” but now it has become a need to go there for the sake of people who are nearer to my heart. Sometimes in life you don’t want to do certain things but still you have to. May be that’s what we call Life.

About the ex, in most of the past relations we tend to slowly forget the bad things and ultimately we are left with only the good memories. Time is always the best healer. Hence accepting the things the way they come is always good in such situations whether it is a boon or bane.
Yes sometimes it is compulsory to have a person who listens to our whining especially when we are lonely from with in. I’m happy that he is there for you to make you happy.
And I’m delighted to see your motherly affection towards your baby bro :). He is in fact lucky to have you in his life. The sad thing about this so called modernised global world is that we hardly can meet and spend time with our loved ones who are actually living on the other side of the globe.
Wish you have a great and long weekend ahead. :)
